I was born into a family that brought the first automobiles to market at the beginning of the last century. For as long as I can remember, I have always heard about motorsport at home and automobiles in the broad sense.

My passion for modes of transport on land also led me to develop a passion for boats during the many school holidays that I spent in Brittany. After my military service in the Navy I began learning how to make sails for large racing multihulls and the last 12MJIs in the America's Cup at the end of the 1980s.

Back in the Paris region, I will join the DPPI press agency created by my father in 1962 where I will learn the basics of photography and business during the first 3 years.

Through a combination of circumstances I will create, develop and manage what will become 10 years later the most important structure for marketing boat photos within a photographic press agency.

At the beginning of this century I will restore several old automobiles, including one of the most emblematic single-seaters in French motorsport that had launched Matra Sport in a quest for victories for 10 years.

After this interlude I returned to my job as a photographer to produce subjects on automobile heritage and motorboats.

BMW 328 type "Mille Miglia"
The BMW 328 was conceived five years after the debut of the brand in the automotive sector. Established in 1916, the Bavarian firm produced aircraft engines and in 1923 began to produce motorcycles. It is in the context of the global crisis of 1929 that BMW produced its first cars, including the 328 in 1935-1936.

BMW has concentrated on the chassis for rigidity and lightness. The basis of a 2L engine - 6 cylinders in line, was already used on previous models but had received a new cylinder head with returning valves, innovative at the time.

The German brand wished to produce a sports car that would participate in competitions (at the time the sporty road cars could easily be used in a race with some modifications). The standard 328 weighs only 830kg, with a rigid frame and an engine developing 80cv.

From 1936 to the postwar period, the 328 will monopolize all competitions with the sport's model "Mille Miglia" (the one pictured) "boosted" to 140cv. From the outset, she won her first race at the Nurburgring, and then the Tourist Trophy, with home drivers. In subsequent years, it will be the 24 Hours of Le Mans in Class 2 Liter to register under his belt and then the Mille Miglia in consecutive years.

This car is little known to our generation, but those who know her admit that the 328 is a car that marked its time with its sporting history and its technical characteristics. This car has now become a brand icon at the propeller's  brand.
