I started making photos when an old compact digital Olympus camera of my father arrived in my hands when I was 15 years old. One year later, I started to cover some national races at the Circuit de Catalunya, that will soon become my second home.
I spend days and days shooting at this track, in all the possible competitions, this hobbie started to be a reality when I began studying Photography and Digital Creation at UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Barcelona) in 2012.
Bit after bit I started working for some media and agencies, going to the F1 winter tests in Spain tracks, when in 2014 I covered my first GPs in Spain and Italy. This same year I also started doing other sports like football or basketball in FC Barcelona in a more professional way.
Now I’m in my last year of university and meanwhile, I’m working as a freelance photographer, especially in motorsport photography.
The gummed asphalt reflects more the light of the sun than the other parts of the track, so in backlight conditions you can get the car path illuminated and a dark background. Moreover the last hours of tests, when the sun goes down, it creates this warm and beautiful atmosphere.
I made this image with a Canon 6D, and a Canon 500mm f4.5 lens, the shutter speed was 1/4000 second at f10 and ISO 100. During the Formula One winter tests on March of 2016, at the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya, Spain.
