Aintree in 1954. Well known for its horse racing, Aintree inaugurated that year a circuit that will echo some famous races for 57 years. Stirling Moss won a 500cc race here with his Beart Cooper-MkVIIA. This image is any restraint. The stands, raincoats, impassive spectators, the chequered flag down with a firm hand but in control. Yet many spectators attend the victory of the new hope of F1. That same year, Moss bought a Maserati F1 with which he will equal the official team and will be noticed by Mercedes who will make him teammate of Fangio in 1955.
