The M64 Alpine Renault, an important stage of the Rédélé era, was distinguished in 1964 by a very aerodynamic body, recognizable by the rear wheel fairing and the fastback design of the pavilion. This 1965 version lost its rear fairing, but retains its rear fastback version with a slight fin. In this picture, the Renault Alpine by Jacques Cheinisse and Jean-Pierre Hanrioud is doing the interior at the Ferrari 275 GTB of Jean Blaton (known as Beurlys) and Willy Mairesse, but make no mistake , The No. 55 will unfortunately retire on the 196th lap, while the Ferrari will take 3rd place on the podium.
This photo is also intriguing, not for the automobile action, but for the disinterest displayed by the spectators of the 1st plan: exciting article in The New Republic (cf the reader's bob) or last rankings ? Crosswords or tally ? That is the question ...
