I started making photos when an old compact digital Olympus camera of my father arrived in my hands when I was 15 years old. One year later, I started to cover some national races at the Circuit de Catalunya, that will soon become my second home.
I spend days and days shooting at this track, in all the possible competitions, this hobbie started to be a reality when I began studying Photography and Digital Creation at UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Barcelona) in 2012.
Bit after bit I started working for some media and agencies, going to the F1 winter tests in Spain tracks, when in 2014 I covered my first GPs in Spain and Italy. This same year I also started doing other sports like football or basketball in FC Barcelona in a more professional way.
Now I’m in my last year of university and meanwhile, I’m working as a freelance photographer, especially in motorsport photography.
Sometimes the grandstand full of fans creates a great atmosphere and very colourful images, but in winter tests there’s only a few fans and the majority of grandstands are closed to public access. In this case the main grandstand of Circuit de Catalunya was practically empty so I made this shoot in low speed to blur a bit all the background while the Ferrari was passing by at full speed.
I made this image with a Canon 6D, and a Canon 17-40mm f4 lens at 17mm focal distance, the shutter speed was 1/15 second at f14 and ISO 100. During the Formula One winter tests on February of 2015, at the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya, Spain.
