I started making photos when an old compact digital Olympus camera of my father arrived in my hands when I was 15 years old. One year later, I started to cover some national races at the Circuit de Catalunya, that will soon become my second home.
I spend days and days shooting at this track, in all the possible competitions, this hobbie started to be a reality when I began studying Photography and Digital Creation at UPC (Universitat Politecnica de Barcelona) in 2012.
Bit after bit I started working for some media and agencies, going to the F1 winter tests in Spain tracks, when in 2014 I covered my first GPs in Spain and Italy. This same year I also started doing other sports like football or basketball in FC Barcelona in a more professional way.
Now I’m in my last year of university and meanwhile, I’m working as a freelance photographer, especially in motorsport photography.
The advertising in the track is always an advantage for photographers. In this particular case the jazzy wall painted in yellow for the Pirelli advertisement, the colours of the grandstand and the clear sky, gives a very colourful scene.
So I decided to shoot at low speed to get a blur but colourful background with the car as sharp as possible.
I made this image with a Canon 1DX, and a Canon 17-40mm f4 lens at 29mm focal distance, the shutter speed was 1/25 second at f16 and ISO 100. During the Formula One Grand Prix of Spain on May of 2015, at the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya, Spain.
