This weekend of the 1968 edition of the Grand Prix of Zandvoort, had started badly for our national champion. Jean-Pierre Beltoise and his Matra MS11 could not do better than 16th in qualifying. But on D-Day, from the 4th lap, Beltoise has already moved up to 3rd place, behind Stewart and Hill.
The Scotsman will not leave the head of the race till the end, and Beltoise will take one more until the podium.
You now have the explanation of "2nd DB", Dutch Beltoise 2nd ... Twisted?
